At the beginning of this week, I and my partner shut everything off (specifically Monday blues) and took an afternoon break to experience some art created by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusuma at the Tate Modern, London.
Kusuma has always seen the world differently and had hallucinations that showed the world in a very different light. She uses the visions she has to create the art experiences and this world we get to see through her art is colorful, infinitely repetitive, bright, and awe-inspiring.
As we experienced her infinite mirror installation my mind ruminated on thoughts that the world we perceive is limited by our senses in so many ways. There is a whole world
out there that we cannot perceive.
I'd like to end this post with a quote from Kusuma.
'It would be futile and meaningless to focus on the shrinking time-frame before me, or to think of my limitations. I shall never stop striving to make worksthat will shine on after my death!
